Rock Dust

Rock dust is a mineral input that remineralizes and conditions the soil, enabling plants to access nutrients through the biological activity of the rhizosphere (bacteria and fungi). Therefore, it is considered a sustainable option for various crops.

In reforestation areas, it can be incorporated into the planting hole (mixed with the soil and organic matter) and used during maintenance as topdressing around the seedlings. The gradual release of nutrients promotes root development, initial vigor, and tree resilience to water stress, supporting soil recovery over time.

In agriculture, rock dust is used in “stonemeal” (soil remineralization) practices: its application during soil preparation or in planting rows helps replenish macro- and micronutrients and improves the soil’s physical, chemical, and biological properties, reducing the exclusive reliance on soluble fertilizers.
